Worrying about gas mileage is truly stupid - if a person is that poor, buy a cheaper car. The difference between a 20 mpg car and a 30 mpg car in terms of annual expense for a 12,000 mile per year driver is 400$. Why anyone would pay 5 to 10K more to get a hybrid or diesel to save 400 per year is hard to understand. Plus small car occupants are much more likely to be killed in an accident. Quit drinking expensive latte's at Starbucks and you will save the same amount per year. Or worry about how much fuel it takes to heat your house, and then buy a mobile home because it gets better fuel economy.
